Bodysense Education Ltd is an amalgamation of Lightley Consulting and Bodysense. It is the only organisation that solely focuses on relationships and sex education (RSE) for people with learning disabilities, of all ages. We provide a comprehensive training programme for professionals working with people with learning disabilities, including teachers, social care staff, Speech and Language Therapy and learning disability nurses. We also sell resources supporting RSE work including the only half life size anatomically correct cloth models available in the UK.
Our
History
Bodysense Education is an amalgamation of Lightley Consulting and Bodysense, two organisations with a combined experience of over 50 years of RSE delivery in schools, community settings, care organisations and the NHS. The Rev. Jane Fraser spent 25 years developing and selling the anatomically correct cloth models until her retirement in 2024.

Bodysense Education in 2024
Claire Lightley now runs Bodysense Education and works with a variety of trainers and seamstresses to bring you the best quality training and resources. Claire previously worked for FPA, the sexual health charity for 17 years before establishing her own training consultancy in 2019, Lightley Consulting.
Claire is an experienced policy writer, co-author of two publications about RSE, the law and people with learning disabilities and is happy to discuss any pieces of work with you, no matter how sensitive these may be. Claire has been enjoying the challenge of providing court ordered education for autistic adults recently as well as developing new products to support a PSHE curriculum in school or adult education.

Bodysense Education Team
Claire Lightley is the Director of Bodysense Education. She has 23 years of experience working in the field of RSE for people with learning disabilities, 17 years with FPA (the sexual health charity) and 6 years as a training consultant. Claire works with a number of freelance experts who help deliver first class training and products.
Karin O’Sullivan is a sexual health nurse who delivers contraception training for practice nurses. Rachael Baker was a specialist teacher for young people with learning disabilities who delivers training around young people, schools and further education settings. Rachael is a specialist in intimate touch and supporting young people with strategies around this. The other four freelancers are seamstresses who hand sew the half life size anatomically correct cloth models for Bodysense Education.
